I’ve spent most of my life surrounded by stories. First as a reader, then as a teacher of literature, and now as a pastor and writer. I have always enjoyed reading and listening to stories. And it was at a young age that my love for words and my desire to tell stories was encouraged and formed. I hold a Master of Science in English, and before entering ministry, I spent sixteen years teaching high school students to read deeply, think critically, and write with imagination.
Today, I serve as a pastor in a small Indiana town, where I continue to wrestle with big questions about God, hope, and the world to come. My wife, Regan, and I have two sons, Ethan and Seth, and are transitioning to empty nesters.
Whether I’m writing fiction or teaching Scripture, my goal is the same: to awaken imagination, stir hope, and help readers glimpse the beauty of God’s story…and their place in it.
the story i had to write
For years I’ve believed that the biblical vision of the future is more beautiful, more concrete, and more adventurous than most of us have been taught to imagine. The Restored Earth Adventures series is my attempt to show kids and the adults who love them what that future might look and feel like from the inside. Book 1, Safe Under His Wings, is coming soon.
